Acacia Alumnus Receives George F. Patterson Jr. Award

November 2, 2006

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Robert Roberson, Illinois Wesleyan University Class of '74, recently received the George F. Patterson Outstanding Alumnus Award from the Acacia Fraternity. The award honors Acacia's outstanding alumni in memory of Patterson's years of service to Acacia and the interfraternity movement.

Acacia, a social fraternity, was founded in 1904, and the 54th chapter at Illinois Wesleyan was established in 1957.

Roberson is the past director of the Acacia Fraternity Foundation and currently serves the fraternity as the Treasurer of the International Council.  He is the past recipient of the Order of Pythagoras, an award that honors those who "serve above and beyond the call of duty," and the Award of Merit, given to "brothers who have given of their time and substance unstintingly for the promotion and furtherance of Acacia."

Roberson is still active, serving as the chapter's President of the Alumni Association.
