Concert to Benefit Summer Music Program Scholarship Fund

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan School of Music will present a fund raising concert to benefit the IWU Summer Music Program Scholarship Fund.  The Chamber Music Concert will take place on Saturday, April 22 at 6:15 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church Sanctuary (1617 E. Emerson St., Bloomington).

The concert is free and open to the public though donations to the IWU Summer Music Program Scholarship fund are welcome.

The concert, which will feature the music of Brahms, Beethoven, Debussy, Kreisler and Mozart, will showcase the following performers:

  • Nina Gordon, cello, IWU professor of cello and chamber music and IWU Summer Music Program founder and director;
  • Lisa Nelson, violin, IWU adjunct instructor in music, prep department coordinator and IWU Summer Music Program executive director;
  • Kent Cook, piano, IWU associate professor of piano, Chamber Music Camp faculty;
  • Susan Brandon, piano, IWU associate professor of piano, Chamber Music Camp faculty;
  • Lisa Boland, viola, IWU student, Cello Camp student counselor;
  • Katie Cler, flute, guest performer, IWU Chamber Music Camp participant;
  • Kayla Comerford, violin, guest performer, IWU Chamber Music Camp participant;
  • Ji-eun Park, cello, guest performer, IWU Chamber Music Camp participant.
