Civic Orchestra to Perform at Center for the Performing Arts

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University Civic Orchestra is scheduled to perform a concert Friday, Nov. 10, at 7:30 p.m. at the Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts, 107 E. Chestnut St., in Bloomington.

Admission for the concert is $10 for adults, $5 for senior citizens and IWU alums,  $1 for Illinois Wesleyan, Illinois State, and high school students with a valid ID, and free for students eighth grade and younger.

Steven W. Eggleston, Civic Orchestra founder and IWU professor of music, will conduct the ensemble in their performance of Symphony No. 5 by Shostakovich, Holberg Suite by Grieg, and Academic Festival Overture by Brahms.

Now in their 22nd season, the Civic Orchestra is an ensemble comprised of IWU students and Bloomington-Normal area musicians.
