Zuzana Paulechova-Stiasna to Perform at IWU

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- The Illinois Wesleyan School of Music will present a recital by internationally renowned pianist Zuzana Paulechova-Stiasna on Tuesday, Feb. 7 at 8 p.m. in Westbrook Auditorium of Presser Hall (1210 N. Park St., Bloomington).

The concert is free and open to the public.

Paulechova-Stiasna has performed extensively throughout England, Germany, Austria, Ukraine, Russia, Romania, Hungary, Czech Republic, Yugoslavia, Latvia and China.  She won the Competition of the Slovak Music Conservatories awards in solo piano and also in chamber music, and was among the winners of the Incontro Internazionale Giovanni Pianisti Citta di Semigallia in Italy.  Paulechova-Stiasna has also recorded several CDs and has recorded live for the BBC and other radio stations.

Paulechova-Stiasna is currently a music professor at the Academy of Music and Drama in Bratislava, Slovak Republic and is the chair of the piano department at the Art Academy in Bystrica, Slovak Republic. She studied at the State Music Conservatory and the Academy of Music and Drama in Bratslavia.
