BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University choral ensembles will present their annual Christmas Choral Concert at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 3, at Bloomington's Holy Trinity Church, 704 N. Main St.
Admission to the concert is $10 for the general public, with discounts for senior citizens, students and IWU alumni. Admission is free for students in eighth grade or younger.
Under the direction of J. Scott Ferguson, professor of music and director of choral activities at IWU, the Collegiate Choir, University Choir and Chamber singers will perform Christmas choral selections composed by Sweelinck, Mouton, Brahms, Chesnokoff, Holst, Britten, Clausen, Lauridsen, and others. The Woodstock High School Treble Concert Choir from Woodstock, Ill., conducted by IWU alumnus David Hartley, class of '05, will join the IWU choral ensembles for the concert.
In addition to choral performance, the event will feature Christmas readings and traditional carols, which are an opportunity for the audience and the performing choirs to join together in song.
