BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Zephyr Dance Company, a Chicago-based, all-female group, will perform in Illinois Wesleyan University’s Hansen Student Center (300 Beecher St., Bloomington) Wednesday, May 17 at 8:30 p.m.
The performance is free and family and friends of the campus community are welcome.
Founded by Michelle Kranicke, artistic director of the company, in 1989, Zephyr has brought critically acclaimed modern dance to Chicago for 17 years. Critics describe their “emotionally challenging” performances as “subdued and elegant” as well as “evocatively structured.” This week the company, which has held residencies during IWU's May Term in the past, will perform a show entitled Chewing.
