Illinois Wesleyan Senior Wins Marketing Award

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Angela Zirbel of South Holland, Ill., a senior business administration
major, was named Illinois Wesleyan University's Outstanding Marketing Student by the
St. Louis Chapter of the American Marketing Association during its annual conference
Outstanding marketing students are chosen by faculty at schools with AMA chapters.
Zirbel currently serves as president of the Illinois Wesleyan chapter.
A graduate of Illiana Christian High School in Lansing, Ill., Zirbel said she is interested
in working with people through public relations.
“I love the creative field. There are more liberties in this field of business,” she
said, noting this year's AMA motto is “Business made fun, careers made possible.”
Founded in 1850, Illinois Wesleyan enrolls about 2,000 undergraduates. The University
comprises the College of Liberal Arts, with 17 academic departments, and the Schools
of Art, Theatre Arts, Music, and Nursing. Emphasizing a distinctive liberal arts curriculum
