IWU Symphonic Winds Concert

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Illinois Wesleyan University's Symphonic Winds will present a spring concert on Thursday, April 14, at 8 p.m. in Westbrook Auditorium of Presser Hall (1210 N. Park St., Bloomington).

The concert is free and open to the public.

The program will include: Commando March by Samuel Barber; Courtly Dance from 'Gloriana': March, Coranto, Morris Dances, Galliard, La Volta, Coda, by Benjamin Britten, translated by Jan Bach; Concerto in C Major for Piccolo and Band: III. Allegro Molto, by Antonio Lucio Vivaldi, translated by Alfred Reed, with Melissa Merrill, class of 2005, as piccolo soloist; The “Gum Suckers” March by Percy Aldridge Grainger; Festivo by Vaclav Nelhybel; English Dances, Op. 33: Allegro non troppo, Con brio, Grazioso, Giubiloso, by Malcom Arnold translated by Maurice Johnstone; Ghost Train by Eric Whitacre; Dreams of a Psychopath by Michael Francis; and Third Suite: March, Waltz, Rondo, by Robert Jager.
