Event: Recital featuring Judith Hanna on the double bass at Illinois Wesleyan University

Admission: Free and open to the public

Background: Illinois Wesleyan University Visiting Assistant Professor of Music Judith Hanna will present a recital featuring the double bass. Hanna will be performing works by Bach, Eccles, and Bottesini as well as original works by composer Donald Skoog for bass and percussion.

Joining Hanna are guest artists Skoog, Devvora Papatheodorou, and Roberta Fox Fehling. Skoog, versed in all the percussion instruments, has studied yearly in Cuba and brings a Cuban traditional drumming style into his performance on the tabla and congas. Papatheodorou, a musician who trained in Europe and specializes in Chamber music, will perform piano. Roberta Fox Fehling, a violinist with the Chicago Symphony, will accompany the ensemble.
