Date: Feb. 17 (Thursday)

Time: 8 p.m.

Location: Tommy's, Hansen Student Center, 300 Beecher St., Bloomington

Admission: Free and open to the public

Background: This event is part of the First-Year Class Event sponsored by the Illinois Student Alumni Council and the Office of Student Activities.

Chris Burrichter, a first-year music and political science major at IWU from Batavia, Ill., known to many as the “Tuba Guy,” will kick off the night as the opening act and the rock group The Color Channel also will perform.

According to fans, The Color Channel, a three-piece rock band, is a “vibrant” rock group that features Illinois Wesleyan first-year student Bryan Byers, an art major from Bloomington.

Described by critics as a perfect mix of power and feeling that is well beyond their age, the group's original music is known to captivate the audience.

Free food and prizes will be provided for all first-year students, however the show is open to the entire Illinois Wesleyan community.
