Background: Kevin Strandberg, IWU associate professor of art, and John Miller, chair of the glass program at ISU will be in the ISU glass house's “hot shop” this Friday, January 28. The public is invited to watch as the two artists collaborate to construct roll-ups, a process that uses colorful sheets of glass produced with kiln-fusing, which are then rolled up and attached to a blow pipe and made into vessels. Visitors are welcome to stop in at any time to watch the demonstration or to stay for the entire day.
The event is being held in conjunction with the exhibition “Contemporary Kiln-Glass: A Survey of Works from the Bullseye Glass Co. collection and the Bullseye Connection Gallery” currently on display at Illinois Wesleyan's Merwin Gallery.
