Background: “The Argument,” an alt-pop quartet will kick off second semester festivities at Illinois Wesleyan’s Hansen Student Center. The quartet, out of Morgantown, W. V., is known to combine clever songwriting with infectious melodies, whose energetic musical style has been compared to renowned singer and pianist Ben Folds and the Jellyfish band due to the group’s piano-driven pop hooks and lush four-part harmony.

The Argument tours regularly and has shared the stage with acts such as Train, 3 Doors Down, Fountains of Wayne, O.A. and OK Go. In 2003 the quartet was selected as a “Top Ten unsigned band in American Music Awards presents the Coca Cola New Music Award.”
