Rock Concert at IWU

September 8, 2005

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – Illinois Wesleyan University presents, live in concert for Fall Family Weekend, The Dog and Everything, with an opening act by Rushmore Academy, on Friday, September 23 at 8 p.m. in the Hansen Student Center (300 Beecher St., Bloomington).

The concert is free and open to the public.

The Dog and Everything released their debut album Bandshell in 2001 as an independent release and the two largest rock stations in Chicago, Q101 and 94.7 “The Zone,” quickly picked it up.  Since then, they have released a second independent album in 2004 called Sound Off and played in the 2005 Warped Tour, a rock tour of America and Canada featuring some of the biggest names in rock, such as The Offspring and Fall Out Boy.  Critics have called their live shows “infectious.”  They have toured with bands such as Bowling For Soup, Something Corporate, Lucky Boy’s Confusion, Riddlin Kids, The Plain White T’s, Motion City Soundtrack, and The Matches.

The opening act, Rushmore Academy, formed in the autumn of 2003.  The rock group has played with such bands as Zebrahead, Lucky Boy’s Confusion, Letter Kills, An Angle, Steel Train, the Junior Varsity and Rise Against.
