Chapel Speaker to Discuss "What Can Christians Say to People of Other Faiths”

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – Illinois Wesleyan University Chapel Hour and Special Events and Services will present the Rev. Dr. Larry D. Pickens on Wednesday, Sept. 21 at 11 a.m. in Evelyn Chapel (1301 N. Park St., Bloomington).

The service is free and open to the public.

Pickens, who will speak on “What Can Christians Say to People of Other Faiths,” is the General Secretary of the General Commission on Christian Unity and Inter-religious Concerns of the United Methodist Church in New York City.  He is also a lawyer, activist, and interfaith leader, and served inner city congregations in Chicago for fifteen years.  Pickens earned a Doctorate of Jurisprudence (J.D.) degree from DePaul University College of Law and holds degrees from the Chicago Theological Seminary, Garett-Evangelical Theological Seminary, and North Park College.
