IWU to Host Seder/Passover Dinner

April 19, 2005

BLOOMINGTON, Ill.- Hillel, Illinois Wesleyan's Jewish religious organization, will sponsor a Seder/Passover dinner on Thursday, April 21, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the Main Lounge of Memorial Center (104 University St., Bloomington).

The event is free and open to the public.

A Seder is a time when families gather to retell the story of the Jewish exodus from Egypt. According to Alyssa Stone, president of Hillel, “the purpose of the Seder/Passover dinner is to open up a new experience to all students and community members through the Jewish culture.” In celebration of the holiday, participants will sing songs, listen to stories and indulge in a Passover feast. The meal will be vegetarian and consist of traditional dishes such as matza ball soup, kugel, tzimmes, apple cake and macaroons.

Reservations are encouraged and can be made by calling (309) 556-3034. For additional information, contact Stone at (309) 556-2150 or by e-mail at astone@iwu.edu.
