John Gorka to Appear in Concert at IWU

BLOOMINGTON, Ill.-Singer-songwriter John Gorka will present a concert at Illinois Wesleyan's Blue Moon Coffeehouse at 8 p.m. on Saturday, April 9, in Westbrook Auditorium of Presser Hall (1210 Park St., Bloomington).

The concert is free and open to the public.

Gorka, a New Jersey native, is considered by critics to be a leader of the New Folk movement and his music has been described as “hummable acoustic pop.” According to Gorka, his favorite musical themes reflect freedom, faith and social justice. He is currently touring in support of his latest Red House Records recording, Old Futures Gone.
