Nursing Interventions Lab Specialist

The Nursing Interventions Lab Specialist is a staff position responsible for day to day coordination of the lab operations and providing  guidance for the School of Nursing and Health Sciences (SoNHS) students and lab assistants. This is an on-campus, 10-month position (August 1 - May 31).  Schedule flexibility (between 32-40 hours per week) will be considered.  Generous benefits include health, retirement, considerable time off and access to multiple tuition programs for employees and dependents.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluation of students; perform nursing clinical competencies; coordinate mock clinical competencies performed by lab assistants; communicate student performance to faculty; and discuss recommendations with faculty and make changes to clinical competencies and nursing skills modules
  • Supervision; manage lab operations including scheduling, plan and direct weekly lab meetings, assign lab tasks
  • Lab specialist; research, order and manage supplies and equipment; manage lab budget; create master lab calendar; coordinate practice/mock competency schedule for all skills modules for all classes
  • Curriculum & recruitment support; participate in curriculum revision and recruitment activities, as needed

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
  • Current license as a Professional Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Illinois
  • Two years of clinical experience
