Business Office


The Controller position directs the day to day financial operations of the University Business Office.  Primary or significant responsibility for accounts payable, student accounts, cash management, student loans, cashier, payroll, credit union, general ledger, fixed assets, cash management and investments.  This is a full time, on-campus position.   • Supervision of the Business Office; ensure accounting functions are in compliance with GAAP and University policies; direct, train and review the work of Business Office employees; oversee internal controls and update policies as needed; serve as the technical lead for Banner, TimeClock plus, Envisions, UltraTax and other business related applications; advise other departments on proper accounting procedure
  • Audits and Financial Statement Preparation; prepare work papers for financial statement audit and benefit plan audits; primary contact with audit firms; responsible for preparing the financial statement and documents for annual reporting; serve as primary person for coordination of materials and presentations to Audit & Compliance Committee; provide analysis for financial reports and programs as needed; coordinate and communicate with external constituents
  • Tax Returns and tax reporting; oversee preparation of calendar year end tax reporting; Form 990, 5227 and 1065; supervise payroll tax reporting



  • Bachelor’s degree required; CPA and/or MBA preferred  
  • Five years experience preparing financial statements, knowledge of financial systems and supervisory experience 
  • Understanding of GAAP, with preferred understanding of fund accounting; strong MS Excel skills
