Assistant Professor of Philosophy

 

Illinois Wesleyan University invites applications for the tenure line position of Assistant Professor in the Philosophy Department. Area of Specialization: Epistemology and/or Metaphysics. Preference will be given to candidates with teaching interest in Logic and/or Modern Philosophy. Our curriculum also has needs in Philosophy of Feminism and Philosophy of Race.

 

The position will begin in Fall 2024. Candidates must have earned a PhD in Philosophy or related field by August 1, 2024. The position requires one to be an active scholar and a skillful teacher. The typical teaching load is three classes per semester. Tenure track faculty members also provide academic advising to students and participate in department and university service.  Candidates must be dedicated to undergraduate education, enthusiastic about professional engagement with students in and out of the classroom, and able to work in teams in a collegial environment.
