Visiting Assistant Professor Psychology

Illinois Wesleyan University invites applications for the position of Visiting Assistant Professor of Psychology, preferably with expertise in social psychology. This one-year position will begin August 15, 2024, with a nine-month commitment. Salary and benefits are competitive.

Qualifications:

Applicants must have earned a Ph.D. or Masters in psychology or a related field. Those nearing completion of the doctorate (ABD) will also be considered. Ideal candidates will have a record of successful teaching.

Responsibilities:

The primary responsibility will be to teach 8 undergraduate psychology courses (4 per semester). Teaching obligations will likely include two sections of each of the following courses: Social Psychology, Introductory Psychology, Research Methods, and an upper-level seminar on a topic of the candidate’s choosing. Applicants are expected to have a dedication to undergraduate education and an ability to work in a collegial environment.
