Entrepreneurship Degree Requirements

Entrepreneurship Major

A minimum of 12 courses to include:

  • Accounting 112: Accounting for Decision Making I or Accounting 113 Accounting for Entrepreneurs
  • Business 240: Introduction to Entrepreneurship
  • Business 330: Funding Startups and Nonprofits
  • Business 331: Marketing: Principles and Management
  • Business 340: Starting a Business
  • Business 341: Organization and Management
  • Business 350: Law for Entrepreneurs
  • Business 440: Project in Entrepreneurship (senior capstone)
  • Business 490: Strategy and Policy
  • Economics 227: Statistics for Business and Economics
  • Finance 303: Financial Management
  • Computer Science 126: Introduction to Computer Science Using the Web


Students majoring in Entrepreneurship are also required to complete:

  • Mathematics 110: Finite Mathematics, Mathematics 176: Calculus I or university credit for AP Calculus
  • Economics 100: Introduction to Economics

Entrepreneurship Minor

Starting with academic year 2020 - 2021 and beyond. The minor requires six courses:

  1. Introduction to Entrepreneurship (BUS 240)
  2. Law for Entrepreneurs (BUS 325)
  3. Accounting for Entrepreneurs (ACC 113)
  4. Starting a Business (BUS 340)
  5. Project in Entrepreneurship (BUS 440)
  6. One elective course: Principles and Management (BUS 331), Grant Writing (PSCI/SOC 398) or The Entrepreneurial Musician (MUS 315)
