Based on the latest recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control, as well as the current spread of the coronavirus in Illinois, Illinois Wesleyan has determined that our best course of action will be to extend our plans for remote instruction beyond our extended Spring Break until the end of the semester and for May Term, which will also be offered remotely.
Most campus buildings will remain closed. Campus employees are working remotely and responding to emails and voicemails.
A University Response Team continues to comprehensively monitor developments as they unfold.
As we evaluate our best courses of action, our decision-making will be based on recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Illinois Department of Public Health and McLean County Health Department.
Our guiding priorities include:
Proactively assuring the health and safety of our campus community
Maintaining the continuity of our academic offerings as much as possible
Doing our part in the global effort to contain this new virus by reducing opportunities for transmission within our community
