"Through my nursing experience at Illinois Wesleyan, faculty offered many exciting learning opportunities. I value my internship in the intensive care unit at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center as one of my most impacting  learning experiences. The internship provided extra clinical time to obtain hands on experience from knowledgeable and skilled nurses.  I also observed multiple surgeries, including open-heart surgery. My internship experience allowed me to improve my critical thinking and time management skills to help improve my overall patient care.  I strongly believe my education at Illinois Wesleyan helped prepare me for my future in nursing. I accepted a Registered Nurse position at UW Health, University of Wisconsin Hospital, Madison, in the Nurse Residency Program on the Cardiothoracic Surgery Unit. My strong education, both classroom and clinical, equipped me with the necessary skills to succeed in my future career. The faculty and staff serve as a constant support system to help all students succeed. I am grateful for my time and experience in the nursing program at Illinois Wesleyan."
