Dr. Cindy A. Kohtz earned her Diploma in Nursing in 1979 from Graham Hospital School of Nursing. Dr. Kohtz earned a B.S.N. from Bradley University in 1990 as well as a M.S.N. later in 1994 from The University of Illinois at Chicago. She received her Ed.D. from Illinois State University in 2006 and achieved certification as a Certified Nurse Educator.
Prior to joining the faculty at Illinois Wesleyan University, Dr. Kohtz taught at Saint Francis Medical Center College of Nursing, Methodist College of Nursing, Excelsior College and Bradley University. She has administrative experience as the Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs for Methodist College of Nursing as well as clinical nursing experience at Pekin Memorial Hospital and Methodist Medical Center. She has completed courses in Parish Nursing and is now a local Parish Nurse.
Honors and Memberships
Dr. Kohtz has received both recognition and funding from the Illinois Board of Higher Education and Methodist College of Nursing including a Nurse Educator Fellowship Award and an Excellence in Teaching Award. Dr. Kohtz holds memberships in Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing and The Association of Critical Care Nurses. In the past she has participated in the National Honor Society of Kappa Delta Pi and the National League of Nursing.
