Fall Choral Concert to Feature Guest Artist

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. — Illinois Wesleyan University’s Collegiate and University Choirs will present a joint fall choral concert featuring guest artist Urmy Das, on Sunday, Nov. 4 at 3 p.m. The concert will take place at Wesley United Methodist Church (502 E. Front St, Bloomington) and is free and open to the public.

Directed by Professor in the School of Music and Director of Choral Activities J. Scott Ferguson, the concert will feature compositions by Allegri, Dove, Eröd, Esmail, Førde, Furman, Gyöngyösi, Herzogenberg, Palestrina, Vaughan Williams and others. Special guest Indian classical dancer, Urmy Das will collaborate with the University Choir on a performance of Desh arranged by Ethan Sperry.

The 50-student Collegiate Choir is dedicated to the performance of the finest sacred and secular choral music of the past five centuries. The University Choir, which consists of a wide variety of students from many fields of study across campus, performs sacred and secular choral literature of many different styles and time periods.
