Chapel Hour to Mark End of Ramadan

October 8, 2007

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – Illinois Wesleyan’s University Chapel Hour will present its next service on Wednesday Oct. 10 at 11:00 a.m. in the Evelyn Chapel (1301 N. Park St., Bloomington).

This service is free and open to the public.

This week’s chapel hour will focus on the Islamic holy month of Ramadan. As Ramadan draws to a close, first year student Mujtaba Isani from Pakistan will speak about his faith and experiences during the past month.

Ramadan is the ninth month in the Islamic calendar. Muslims believe that during this month Allah revealed the Qur’an to Muhammad. During Ramadan Muslims abstain from food and drink between sun up and sun down in order to focus more on prayer and their faith.
