Each team competes on a national level to represent the school through different tournaments and leagues. We currently field teams in League of Legends, VALORANT, Rocket League, Overwatch and Super Smash Bros.

The Esports program trains within our state-of-the-art facility on campus. The two-story stand alone facility houses over 50 computers, a competition room, broadcast studio, live-streaming room, conference room, and two student lounges.

About the Coaches

Illinois Wesleyan University Esports coaches are responsible for the growth and development of their roster. Each varsity title has its own dedicated coach. The coaches at Illinois Wesleyan University approach coaching with an individual and team orientated mindset. They look at how the best training can be individualized to increase growth and development while still adhering to the overall objectives for the team.

Players will practice with their coach and team for 10-15 hours each week. Players will analyze game footage with their coach and formulate a plan to improve various aspects of their game. Our coaches focus on individual player mechanics, team mechanics, strategy, and mentality. The teams will practice with and against their fellow students, other universities, and the online communities within each game.
