Study Abroad

For students interested in studying abroad, either fall or spring of the third year is recommended.

Additional Information

  • No amount of experience in secondary school art is the equivalent of ART 111 and 113. All students majoring in Art must complete these two courses or similar courses at the college level.
  • Students must take an appropriate number of art and art history courses in their freshman and sophomore year in order to graduate in four years. Students who do not comply with the recommended pattern typically discover—in their junior year—that popular options such as study abroad, urban semester, and internships are not available within a four-year plan. Quality advising of art major students requires that they be informed of the likely consequences of not following the required pattern.
