Residence Hall Protocol for Collecting Belongings on Campus
We are delaying a return to campus in order to prevent potential spread of the virus
and have mandated the following, per the IWU Update email: "Students may not return
to campus without permission until March 29. Faculty will be providing materials
for course instruction electronically as part of distance learning." These are extraordinary,
but essential, steps to protect our campus and home communities.
On a case by case basis, we will be granting permission to students to
briefly return to their residence halls to pick up
essential items only
during one of the following times:
Friday, March 13 between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.
Saturday, March 14 between Noon and 4 p.m.
Sunday, March 15 between Noon and 4 p.m.
Wednesday, March 18 between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m.
Saturday, March 21 between noon and 4 p.m.
These requests must be submitted through your MyHousing page.
you may not return to campus without written permission.
If self-quarantine has been recommended or required, you may not return to campus
on these designated days.
Sorority members: please contact your chapter leadership regarding retrieval of items.
It is expected that students will observe the
World Health Organization-recommended steps
to minimize potential exposure to the virus while collecting belongings from their
Wash hands frequently with an alcohol-based hand rub or wash them with soap and water.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
Maintain social distance; remain at least 1 meter (3 feet) away from anyone who is
coughing or sneezing.
Practice respiratory hygiene, which includes covering your mouth and nose with your
bent elbow or tissue when you cough or sneeze and disposing of the used tissue immediately.
