Symphonic Winds to Host Concert

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. –– The Illinois Wesleyan School of Music’s Symphonic Winds ensemble will perform in concert on Sunday, Feb. 16, 2020 beginning at 3 p.m. in Presser Hall’s Westbrook Auditorium. This event is free and open to the public.

Directed by Assistant Professor of Music Education Bradley Regier, the Symphonic Winds will perform a concert featuring works by composers Clare Grundman, John Mackey, David Maslanka & Anne McGinty.

Symphonic Winds is a concert band open to anyone on campus by audition. It is mostly made up of non-music majors. The ensemble is specifically geared to serve non-music majors who want to enjoy playing and improve their skills, as well as music education students on secondary instruments who wish to become familiar with more repertoire and other instruments than their primary. The group is a traditional concert band that performs large ensemble works.
