Wind Ensemble to Perform

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. — Illinois Wesleyan University’s Wind Ensemble will hold its first performance of 2019 on Friday, Feb. 15 at 7:30 p.m. in Presser Hall’s Westbrook Auditorium.

The ensemble will perform works by well-known composers Dmitri Shostakovich, Aram Khachaturian and Johann Sebastian Bach. The concert is free and open to the public.

Led by Visiting Assistant Professor of Music Lev Ivanov, the Wind Ensemble has been part of Illinois Wesleyan University’s School of Music since 1979. The ensemble, comprised of top wind and percussion students, has worked with Pulitzer Prize winning composers and tours regularly. In past years, the ensemble has played at the College Band Directors National Association Conference and the Illinois Music Educators Association Conference.
