IWSO to Perform during Homecoming

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. –– The Illinois Wesleyan Symphony Orchestra will perform its annual Homecoming concert at Second Presbyterian Church in Bloomington on Friday, Oct. 4, 2019 at 7:30 p.m. The concert is free and open to the public.

The concert will feature Alfred Schnittke's Polyphonic Tango, George Gershwin's Suite from An American in Paris and the iconic Piano Concerto no. 5 Emperor by Ludwig Van Beethoven.

Founded in 1984, the Illinois Wesleyan Symphony Orchestra has performed with many esteemed soloists and is made up of students from all disciplines. The current orchestra conductor is Visiting Assistant Professor of Music and Director of Large Instrumental Ensembles Lev Ivanov.
