Wind Ensemble to Present Concert

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. — Illinois Wesleyan University’s Wind Ensemble will present a concert on Saturday, Nov. 10 at 7:30 p.m. in Presser Hall’s Westbrook Auditorium. The concert is free and open to the public.

Conducted by Visiting Assistant Professor in the School of Music Lev Ivanov, the program revolves around the theme, “Space,” which imagines the essence of the universe and its mystery. The program will feature prominent composers in the field, including Michael Daugherty, David Gillingham and Christopher Rouse.

Comprised of the top wind and percussion students at the University, the group performs the finest wind band literature and has had the opportunity to work with Pulitzer Prize winners and world-renowned composers. The group also tours regularly and has appeared at performances for the College Band Directors National Association Conference and the Illinois Music Educators Association Conference.
