Guitar Ensemble to Present Concert

BLOOMINGTON, Ill.— Illinois Wesleyan University’s Guitar Ensemble will present a recital on Saturday, April 21 at 7:30 p.m. at Evelyn Chapel (1301 N. Park St., Bloomington). The concert is free and open to the public.

Directed by Adjunct Instructor in the School of Music Mark Anderson, the program will feature works by J.S. Bach, Antonio Vivaldi, Yuquijiro Yocoh, and Brazilian composers Luiz Bonfá, Jacob Bittencourt, Ernesto Nazareth, Pixinguinha and Benedito Lacerda. Ensemble member Brandon Chopp '19, a history major and Hispanic studies minor, will perform Federico García Lorca’s “Canción del jinete.”

Performers also include: Cassidy Andracki '19, Nick Liu '20, Nate Vartivarian '20 and Nick Thorne '21. The Guitar Ensemble, which features students in a variety of majors, presents recitals throughout the year and invites guest artists to promote guitar music throughout the campus.
