Saturday Language School to learn Spanish or French
Fall Session: Saturdays, TBD
We promote early second language acquisition for children who want to learn a second (or third!) language. Children Pre-K (3 years old/potty trained) to 5th grade will have the opportunity to learn and gain knowledge of the rich cultural traditions of the target cultures. Playgroup classes are available for the younger children focusing only on culture and minimal language.
Dates: Saturdays TBD
Time: 9:30-11 am
Where: Illinois Wesleyan University, Buck Memorial Hall Room 107
Beginning classes are divided by age group and previous enrollment: Pre-K (3 years old/potty trained) through 5th grade. Five students minimum and 10 maximum. Students with previous language experience will be placed in classes based on proficiency. Bilingual and heritage speakers are welcome.
Classes are taught by an experienced language instructor and assisted by a university student with an educational background. We also have staff that helps with bathroom breaks, crafts. Classes are held in a beautiful, university building (easy and free parking).
All classes follow a similar curriculum that is aligned with State standards for bilingual/dual language education and modified for the age group.
Multiple-sibling discounts are available (10% for the second+ sibling) as well IWU a faculty/staff discount.
