Scholarships & Grants
To be considered for any scholarship or grant, all you have to do is fill out the
admission application and submit all requested materials.
Your application for admission and transcripts will put you in consideration for our two primary scholarships for
our College of Liberal Arts and School of Nursing:
▷ IWU Alumni Scholarship
▷ IWU Alumni Opportunity Grant
While many factors are considered in the application process, your academic profile
is the primary factor for these two scholarships, which typically range from $10,000
If you are majoring in the College of Fine Arts (Theatre, Music, or Art), we will
also use your audition, portfolio review or interview to award the:
▷ IWU Alumni Talent Scholarship
With a few rare exceptions, these scholarships range from $10,000 to $24,000.
Besides these larger scholarships, we offer $4,000 scholarships to:
▷ National Merit Scholars
▷ National Achievement Scholars
Three National Merit Scholars could qualify for as much as $40,000 a year in scholarships
Finally, our alums have also been generous in establishing regional scholarships for
students outside the state of Illinois that range from $2,000 to $5,000.
Again, there are no extra steps beyond applying for admission to be considered for
these merit awards.
You will be considered for additional need-based grants once you have completed the
FAFSA and the IWU Financial Aid Application.
