Grants
Policy on Reporting Sexual Harassment Findings
Background: on September 21, 2018, National Science Foundation published updated term
and
condition for awards in which NSF mandated that universities report the following:
- Any findings or determinations that an NSF-funded principal investigator or co-principal
investigator
committed harassment, including sexual harassment or sexual assault. - The placement of the principal investigator or co-principal investigator on administrative
leave, or of
the imposition of any administrative action relating to a harassment or sexual assault finding or
investigation.
In response to this mandate, Illinois Wesleyan University has established a Policy
on Reporting Sexual
Harassment Findings, which is to comply with the federal mandate using the process
described below:
- When needed, the Title IX Coordinator will request a list of ALL NSF-funded personnel
(faculty, staff,
and students) from the Grants and Foundation Relations Office. - If reporting is required, the Title IX Coordinator as authorized organizational representative
will
submit notification within 10 business days from the date of the finding/determination, or the date of
the placement of a PI or co-PI by the awardee on administrative leave or the imposition of an administrative action, whichever is sooner.
