April 20, 2021
Dear Class of 2021 and your families,
I know you have been waiting to hear whether additional guest tickets will be available
for Commencement. Unfortunately, given the evolving status of the pandemic – including
the rise in COVID cases in Illinois and in our region – we have determined that the
most prudent course is to maintain the safety protocol that we originally established.
We regret the need to limit attendance, but we are very pleased that this year’s Illinois
Wesleyan graduates will be able to have an in-person Commencement. We want to ensure
that it is carried out as safely as possible.
Each student will receive the number of guest tickets requested, up to a maximum of
4. As you know, the ceremony will also be live streamed and will be available for
viewing “on demand” subsequent to the event.
Additional information will be sent to you next week regarding logistics for the day,
including parking and ticket distribution.
You may also refer to the IWU website for future updates: www.iwu.edu/commencement.
Any questions may also be directed to Julie Anderson at firstname.lastname@example.org or (309) 556-3780.
With best regards,
S. Georgia Nugent
