Associate Director of Admissions

The Associate Director of Admissions provides strategic oversight and operational leadership for admissions recruitment and staff development, directly supervising Admissions Counselors and Assistant Directors while managing a high-priority recruitment territory to achieve enrollment goals. This role is responsible for building strong relationships with prospective students, families, and influencers, evaluating applications and scholarship considerations, and leading the onboarding, training, and professional development of admissions staff. The Associate Director contributes to the consistency and improvement of admissions policies and practices, represents the office in cross-campus collaborations and committees, and advances institutional objectives through project leadership, data analysis, and partnership with campus constituents.  This is a full-time, 12 month, on-campus position.  Generous benefits include health, retirement, considerable time off, and access to multiple tuition programs for employees and dependents.  

 

Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment and Territory Management; represent the University at high schools, college fairs and community based organizations; build strong relationships with prospective students, families and key influencers; maintain regular communication with prospects and applicants; analyze territory data to adjust recruitment plans and achieve enrollment goals
  • Staff Supervision and Office Leadership; supervise, evaluate, and mentor Admissions Counselors and Assistant Directors; coordinate training and professional development opportunities; oversee project assignments and office workflows; represent the office in cross-campus collaborations and committees
  • Application Review and Admissions Decisions; conduct holistic file review balancing academic and personal factors; participate in committee discussions and contribute recommendations; maintain consistency and adherence to admissions policies and criteria; provide constructive feedback on processes
  • Onboarding and Training of Admissions Staff; develop and deliver training modules for new staff on systems, policies, and best practices; serve as a resource and mentor to support team members’ professional success; coordinate ongoing professional development workshops for admissions staff; identify skill gaps and recommend training opportunities; support office-wide initiatives through cross-campus collaboration and leadership on projects that advance institutional objectives; collaboration on special projects

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Five years’ of progressive admissions enrollment experience; admissions practices, supervisory and/or mentorship practices; enrollment management strategies, recruitment trends, application review
  • Understanding of higher education policies, CRM systems and effective communication practices to support prospective student engagement and staff training
  • Occasional travel and frequent evening/weekend work required
  • Valid Driver’s License and reliable personal transportation required
  • Physical requirements: stand and walk; twist; lift, carry, push, and pull objects that weigh up to 25 pounds

$60k-$70k, and based on experience
