Who We Are

Although everyone is responsible for creating a safe and caring environment at Illinois Wesleyan, some people have stepped up in their roles to further work towards creating an inclusive environment. These people in particular have worked towards creating a friendly and supportive community for the LGBTQIA population. Also make sure to check our IWU Outlist for LGBTQIA and ally faculty and staff.

Safe Zone Steering Committee

The importance of Safe Zone is to create a safe space for our Pride Alliance students, our LGBTQIA community, and our allies. Everyone is susceptible to discrimination and, as a result, is responsible for making sure that the likelihood of discrimination is reduced in all communities. Safe Zone provides the knowledge necessary to do so.

Pride Alumni Community Co-Chairs

The Pride Alumni Community welcomes all members of the Illinois Wesleyan University community to join us: alumni, students, faculty, staff, family and friends of the University.  Our mission is to connect members of the LGBTQIA community, friends and allies to our alma mater.
