Scholarships & Talent Awards

"IWU School of Theatre Arts has a great program which equips students to become some of the most versatile professionals you'll encounter in the theatre.  Within months of graduating I had my Actor's Equity card and a full-time job at a theatre I love." -- Kyle Urquhart, BFA Theatre Design & Technology '10, Berkshire Theatre Festival, Brevard Music Center, Janiec Opera Company, Williamstown Theatre Festival

Talent Awards

Illinois Wesleyan is again considered one of "Kiplinger's Best Values in Private Colleges." We are pleased to be able to offer scholarships based on talent and/or academic performance.  Students planning to major in the BFA Acting, Design and Tech, Music Theatre or BA in Theatre programs will be considered for the Alumni Fine Arts for Theatre Scholarships or the Alumni Fine Arts for Music Scholarships.  These scholarships are renewable for four years and are awarded on the basis of a combination of auditions or portfolio evaluations and high school academic performance.  Four- year talent awards range from $32,000 to $48,000.

Awards are renewable for four years as long as the student's GPA is at or above 3.0, and in the case of Talent Awards, as long as the student continues to contribute to the Theatre program in a meaningful way.

In addition, the University offers need-based grants and loans to qualifying students. For more information on financial aid, see the Admission Office.
