The following five courses are required for an Economics major:
Econ 100: Introduction to Economics
Econ 227: Statistics for Business and Economics
Econ 301: Intermediate Microeconomics
Econ 302: Intermediate Macroeconomics
Econ 401: Senior Project
One semester of calculus is also required. IWU's Mathematics Department offers several options:
Math 151: Survey of Calculus
Math 155: Calculus/Mathematica I
Math 161: Calculus I
Math 165: Analysis I
In addition, Economics majors must take at least five Economics electives, at least four of which must be at the 300/400 level. See the Course Descriptions page for your options. We recommend that majors make Applied Econometrics one of these, in preparation for Senior Project.
