Opera Night at IWU

BLOOMINGTON, Ill.— Illinois Wesleyan University’s School of Music Opera Workshop is presenting two one-act operas: The Beautiful Bridegroom based on Den forvandlede Brudgom by Ludwig Holberg and Too Many Sopranos. The performances that opened on April 2, will resume on April 4 at 8 p.m., April 6 at 6:30 p.m. and April 7 at 3 p.m. in Westbrook Auditorium of Presser Hall (1210 Park St., Bloomington).

The event is free and open to the public.

Susan Klotzbach, University organist and adjunct faculty member is the music director, and the Visiting Assistant Professor of Music Robert Mangialardi is the director. The cast for The Beautiful Bridegroom consists of students junior Becky Buechel ’15, Megan Callison ’16, Alyssa Gibson ‘16, Natalie Howard ‘15, Anne Marie Pasternock ‘16, Cortlin Presley ‘16.

The cast for Too Many Sopranos consists of Akash Bhatia ‘14, Chloe Bluml ‘14, Becky Buechel ‘15, Natalie Howard ‘15, Jackie Klimczak ‘15, Ainsley Klug ‘15, Lauren Shafer ‘15, Drake Sorensen ‘16, Clarisse Tobia ‘14, Andrea Tucci ‘15.
