MALANA Orientation

  August 18-20, 2012

MALANA  is an acronym used to refer to Illinois Wesleyan's racially underrepresented student population, specifically Multiracial, African-American, Latino - American, Asian- American, and Native American Students. MALANA Orientation is a 3 day event which allows first year MALANA students the opportunity to meet current students, faculty, and staff. The purpose of MALANA Orientation is to provide critical tools and resources to students that will assist them in achieving a successful and productive first year experience.

MALANA Orientation will be held on August 18-20, 2012.  This orientation is an opportunity for students to:

  • Learn how to succeed at Illinois Wesleyan
  • Meet upper-class students
  • Make connections with campus faculty, staff, and administrators
  • Network with IWU minority alumni
  • Explore the Bloomington-Normal community
  • Become a part of the GUIDE Mentor/Mentee Program
  • Make the most of IWU outside the classroom
  • Celebrate and appreciate diversity
  • Beat the move-in rush!
