Random Acts of Kindness

Look for flyers in your mailbox January 2016!

Random Acts of Kindness are those little sweet or grand lovely things we do for no reason except that, momentarily, the best of our humanity has sprung, exqusitely, into full bloom. When you perform such an act, you are doing not what life requires of you, but what the best of your human soul invites you to do. It is when we step outside the arena of the normal boundaries of our lives that our kindesses move beyond the routine and enter the realm of the extraordinary and exquisite." So goes the opening statement from the book, Random Acts of Kindness.

Why practice random kindness? Practicing random kindness is an effective way to get in touch with the joy of giving without expecting anything in return. It is best practiced without letting anyone know what you are doing. Random acts of kindness come from the heart. These acts can reward you with a positive feeling and remind you of the important aspects of life-service, kindness and love.

This year, not only will our anonymous gifts tantalize taste buds, but, a second option will allow the recipient to continue the act of kindness by providing a bit of care for small succulent plants that will last long after RAK day has passed. Bestow a random act of kindness with Endangered Species Chocolate, delicious chocolate treats created by a company that works cooperatively with their chocolate suppliers to fulfill a vital part of their company's mission...empower individuals to create solutions that sustain species, habitat and humanity. Or send a small succulent plant whose essence depends on the recipients continued kindness and will provide a happy memory for years to come. Or send both!

IWU Wellness will assist with bestowing Random Acts of Kindness the week of February 14th, 2016.You will receive an order form via campus mail prior to the event date, please complete and inclose the proper amount of money for your order in the way of cash or check (made out to IWU Wellness. You may include a personal message to each person.
