Cholesterol, Blood Lipids, Metabolic Panel, Iron, Blood Pressure, and PSA Screening*

Cholesterol and Lipid Profile:This test will provide information about total cholesterol, HDL, LDL and triglycerides. A 12-hour fast is required prior to the Blood Chemistry Panel-- nothing to eat or drink, except water. Click here for more information about these screenings.
Blood Pressure:If you have not had your blood pressure checked recently, please take a moment to update this health information. You can do it in less time than it takes to call a friend for lunch.
PSA Screening: The PSA test measures the levels of the Protein-Specific Antigen (PSA) in a man's blood. It is used as a screening tool for prostate cancer. This test can be completed with the same sample of blood drawn from the Blood Chemical Profile.

Participants in the IWU health plan are covered for this screening. Spouses and family members are welcome to participate in these screenings; however, If you or an immediate family member are not insured by IWU and wish to participate in the screening, you are required to pay at the time of service. People who are not on the plan will be put on a waiting list for these services, as there is a limited number who can be served during this time frame. The Wellness Office will contact people on the waiting list to verify if participation is possible prior to the date of screening.
Note: The results of all screenings are strictly confidential and may be sent directly to you or your physician (if requested at the time of the screening).
