Mark Brodl Stepping Down as Provost to Teach at Illinois Wesleyan

Mark Brodl, provost and dean of faculty at Illinois Wesleyan University, has announced he will step down as the head of academic affairs effective Dec. 31, 2023, but will remain a Titan as he returns to teaching.

Taylor Babec '24, a childhood cancer survivor, is partnering with the IWU women's volleyball team to host a blood drive on campus through ImpactLife. The blood drive will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Hansen Student Center on Thursday, Sept. 28.

Illinois Wesleyan hosted this year's St. Jude Walk/Run for Bloomington-Normal on Sept. 23, with 600 participants including many IWU student athletes helping to raise $279,000.

Emeritus professor of the Indiana University School of Optometry David Goss '70 is the author of “From Spectacle Making Trade to Scholarly Profession: A History of Optometry in the United States,” the first comprehensive optometric history book published in the U.S. in over 50 years.
