5 p.m., Vinyard Room, Memorial Center – Feed the Body, Feed the Soul? A Writing Masterclass for Human Animals – Food ties us to place, to the season, to our cultures and histories. It's at the center of family, identity, desire, and self-mortification. Sometimes it's the best way to feed the soul, and other times the worst. And the stakes are high: too little food and we die; too much of it and, well, we also die. In other words, it's fraught. And what could be better for writing than something so fraught? In this masterclass, we'll write our way into our hungers, into the animal (and perhaps also sacred) nature of human experience. This event is taught by David Ebenbach, free, and open to the public.

We celebrate each year in mid-February because it marks the symbolic point during the academic year – about 70% of the way through – when tuition dollars run out and we rely on support from alumni and friends, our endowment, and external grants.
Please make time to stop by one of the TAG Day tables to write a note to one or more donors who help make an IWU experience possible. Also, please share your gratitude on social media using #IWUThanks. |
