4 p.m., 102, State Farm Hall – Climate Change and Water Quality in Vietnam and Ho Chi Minh City: Lecture and Reception – Dr. Thị Vân Hà Nguyễn will talk about the impacts and challenges of climate change to water quality in Vietnam and Ho Chi Min City (Saigon), specifically. She is an associate professor and dean of the Department of the Environment at Ho Chi Minh University of Natural Resources and Environment.
A reception with delicious food will follow her lecture. This event is free and open to all at IWU and the public; sponsored by the IWU Environmental Studies Program and the Asian Studies Team of the International Studies Program.

- Mathematical Physics in Theoretical Chemistry has been published by Elsevier under the co-editorship of Adjunct Professor and Scholar in Residence James E. House. This is the second in the series of reference volumes Developments in Physical & Theoretical Chemistry, for which House is the Series Editor.
- B. Charles and Joyce Eichhorn Ames Professor of Physics Gabriel Spalding gave an invited talk at the Illinois State University Physics Colloquium on Nov. 27, entitled, “Time in experiments on Quantum Entanglement …and beyond."
- Sarah Bockel ’10 will perform at the Center for the Performing Arts at Penn State as part of the national tour of “Beautiful – The Carole King Musical.”
- Patrick McGrath '93 maintains a popular blog Don’t Try Harder, Try Different, on Psychology Today's web platform. McGrath is assistant vice president of the Foglia Family Foundation Residential Treatment Center, clinical director of the AMITA Health Alexian Brothers Behavioral Health Hospital’s Center for Anxiety and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder Program, and president of OCD-Midwest, an affiliate of the International OCD Foundation. He has been featured on the Discovery Health Channel’s documentary Anxious and on The Learning Channel’s Hoarding: Buried Alive.

In the spirit of the upcoming holidays, The Ames Library is gathering presents for the Boys & Girls Club of Bloomington-Normal. Our local Club is hosting a Family Holiday Shopping opportunity for income-qualified families. Your gifts will help make this event possible.
If you would like to contribute, please bring unwrapped items to the Library Services Desk where we have a bin for donations. We are accepting gifts through Friday, Dec. 21.
Suggestions for gifts have been provided by the Boys & Girls Club team:
Ages 0 – 12:
Popular asks this year include: Lego sets, Lego Friends sets, LOL Surprise, Shopkins, Hatchimals, art kits (Slime is a very popular item, friendship bracelets), unicorn-themed items, play sets (like Melissa and Doug food, kitchen, construction), Littlest Pet Shop, dress-up kits, nail kits, science construction & experiment kits, drones, putty, bath bombs, Hot Wheels, Kinetic Sand, WWE characters, remote-control cars, dolls (baby and Barbie)

If you would like to change your health insurance plan option or enroll yourself or a dependent(s) in the insurance plan for 2019, enrollment forms are available at the Human Resources Office in Holmes Hall 209. We would be happy to send you an enrollment form if you contact Marie at mgiusti@iwu.edu. We will need your completed enrollment form returned to Human Resources no later than Wednesday, Dec. 5 in order to guarantee that all of the necessary processing steps to effectuate your change(s) will be in place by Jan. 1, 2019.
