Merwin Gallery, Joyce Eichhorn Ames School of Art Building – "Barcelona: vistas desde las montañas hasta el mar" – An exhibit of large oil paintings by Dick Folse ’85, Director of Grants and Foundation Relations, is on display. Summer gallery hours are Tuesdays and Wednesdays 12-2 p.m., Thursdays 4-6 p.m. and Saturdays 10 a.m.-12 p.m.

Language School for Kids

The IWU Language School for Kids Fall 2018 Session will be begin Saturday, Sept. 8. Children ages 3-1/2 (potty trained) through 5th grade are welcome.

Instead of distributing holiday schedule cards to faculty and staff, the 2018 - 2019 schedule of employee holidays is now available online.

Welcome New Employees

NicoleNicole Poggendorf will join the Hart Career Center on Tuesday, Aug. 7, as Assistant Director for Career Development, replacing Abby Reel '04.


Poggendorf earned her bachelor's degree in secondary education at Eastern Illinois University and her master's degree in college student personnel services from Arkansas State University. Most recently, she worked as TRIO Outreach Advisor/Mentor for Lake Land College. Prior to that, she taught high school and has background in business management. She brings significant experience in assessment, student advising, programming, and event planning.



Grace Hanzelin '17 started July 17 as Admissions Counselor, replacing Michele Darnell, who transferred to the new Pre-Health and Biology Career Advisor position.



Laura Kane started Aug. 1 as staff nurse in Arnold Health Services, replacing Deb Adams, who retired.



Stephanie Moore started Aug. 1 as Recruitment Coordinator, Professional Laboratory Associate: Clinical Expert in the School of Nursing, replacing Kim Schultz, who retired.
